Breakfast
A candle light four course breakfast is served in the dinning room of the main house on antique Depression glass dishes. The signature dish of this bed and breakfast is a baked glazed pear, that most find delicious.
Recipe - Baked Glazed Pears
4 pears
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
8 tablespoons brown sugar
Nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped English Walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash and core pears. Place in a baking dish with about 1/2 inch of water. Bake for 35 minutes. When pears are almost done, melt butter in a saucepan. Add brown sugar (2 tablespoons for each pear), two dashes of nutmeg and nuts. Heat to boiling, stirring often. Just before serving, pour water from pears into sugar mixture. To serve, pour sauce over warm pears.
